Years ago, I came across a photograph of a Jeep Grand Wagoneer on a Los Angeles freeway. One frame brought back the roads, cars and chapters of life that had stayed somewhere in the back of my mind.
An old car can do that. So can a song, a street or a place you have not visited in years. It takes you back before you have worked out why.
I still make room for those interests. The things we notice outside work have a way of changing how we see it when we return.
